Candle Safety

There’s only one thing we care about as much as great candles: burning them safely. To help reduce fire hazards at home, keep these candle safety tips in mind:

Burn your candle in a well-ventilated space, away from flammable objects, and out of reach of children and pets. Trim the wick to 2–3mm before each use, and make sure the candle is at room temperature to prevent tunneling. On the first burn, keep it lit for at least an hour so the melt pool reaches the edges. If the flame gets too large, extinguish it, trim the wick, and relight. Avoid pouring out wax or swirling it to adjust the flame. To clean soot from the jar, simply wipe it with a dry paper towel. Always follow the safety instructions on the candle’s caution label.
