VINTAGE ITEM POLICY
All vintage items are sold AS IS and are final sale. Vintage pieces are often one of a kind and may show light signs of age that add to their character and authenticity. Please review all descriptions and photos carefully before purchasing.
If you receive a vintage item that is not as described, please contact us and we will work out a fair resolution.
Are the light cords on vintage Christmas houses safe to use?
Many of the Christmas village items, like houses and accessories, we sell are vintage collectible items and may include their original light cords or adapters. These older cords and adapters were produced many years ago and are not certified to current CSA or modern Canadian electrical safety standards.
You are welcome to use them if you choose, but please understand that vintage electrical components can carry some risk due to age. We recommend replacing all older cords with a modern CSA approved single bulb light cord for safe use. These are widely available from many retailers.
All vintage electrical components are sold as is. Vintage Villages Specialty Gifts Inc. is not responsible for any damage or injury that may result from the use of original vintage cords. Customers who choose to use vintage cords do so at their own discretion.
If you prefer to use your Christmas houses for display only, you can also remove the bulb and cord entirely.
What If My Order Arrives Damaged or Incorrect?
Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact us within 48 hours if an item is damaged, defective, or incorrect. Email clear photos of the packaging and item to info@vintagevillages.ca and we will assist you with the next steps.
How Do Refunds Work?
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will let you know if it is approved. If approved, refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider may take additional time to post the credit.
If more than 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved, contact us at info@vintagevillages.ca or (647) 799-1448.
Can I Exchange an Item?
The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the original item (if eligible) and place a new order once your return is accepted.
General Information
What Does “Vintage Villages” Mean?
For us, it means curating a collection of older, hard-to-find Department 56 and Lemax retired pieces that hold nostalgic value. We specialize in discontinued designs, making it easier for collectors to find rare and sought-after pieces. We may also use “vintage” to describe secondhand or previously owned items.
Are You Affiliated With the Brands You Sell?
We are proud to be authorized retailers for several renowned international brands, including Lemax, Kurt S. Adler, Steinbach, and Carters of Suffolk.
We carry the latest Lemax collections, including new releases and seasonal village pieces.
Our Kurt S. Adler selection includes festive ornaments, nutcrackers, and décor that bring timeless charm to the holidays.
Steinbach nutcrackers are authentic and handcrafted in Germany with generations of tradition.
For all other brands, we are not officially affiliated unless otherwise stated. All trademarks, logos, and brand names are the property of their respective owners.
What Does It Mean When Department 56 or Lemax “Retire” a Product?
At the end of each year, certain pieces are retired and the molds are typically destroyed. This makes the pieces rarer and more collectible over time. Retired items are highly sought after by collectors due to their limited availability.
Do You Carry New Department 56 or Lemax Items?
We do not carry new Department 56 items. Our selection consists exclusively of vintage and retired pieces.
For Lemax, we offer both vintage and brand-new items. As an authorized Lemax retailer, we carry new releases as well as vintage buildings and accessories.
